How to Transfer

This page contains all the information that you need to transfer into our Nursing, B.S. program.

Transfer Nursing Admissions Standards

  • 3.0 overall GPA
  • 3.0 cumulative science GPA in pre-requisite science courses
  • 3.0 GPA in pre-requisite nursing courses

Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission into Roberts Wesleyan University. An opportunity for additional testing and/or campus interview may be required prior to an admission decision. 

A Transfer Credit Evaluation (TCE) will be completed if you are accepted to the nursing program.

Prerequisites

The following courses must be completed to begin Junior level nursing courses and clinical rotations.  

Prerequisite Science Courses (3.0 minimum cumulative GPA with no grade lower than C)

  • Human Anatomy & Physiology I (with lab)
  • Human Anatomy & Physiology II (with lab)
  • Microbiology (with lab)
  • Introduction to Organic and biochemistry (with lab)

Prerequisite Nursing Courses (3.0 minimum cumulative GPA)

  • Principles of Nutrition 

Other Prerequisite Courses

  • General Psychology
  • Developmental Psychology (Lifespan)

Advising Notes:

  • NSG 2500: Introduction to Professional Nursing Concepts is the required gateway course for upper-level nursing courses. You must take this course at Roberts.
  • Science prerequisite courses must be completed within five years of your admission to Roberts.
  • You can only retake a course once to meet GPA requirements. A maximum of two courses (including nursing and science courses) can be retaken to improve your GPA. Withdrawals count as attempts.
  • Online science labs are generally not accepted for the Nursing program.
  • Transfer credits are only accepted from regionally accredited colleges and require a minimum grade of C-.

However, if you were dismissed, failed out, or could not progress in your previous nursing or healthcare-related program, you are not eligible for admission to Roberts' nursing program.

No, you can transfer before completing all pre-requisites.

However, you must finish them before starting junior-level nursing courses and clinical rotations.

If you have failed the same nursing or science prerequisite more than twice, you will not be admitted to the Roberts nursing program, regardless of your GPA.
